Fate of Some Rwandans Who Dared Challenging Kagame in the Presidential Bid.
RWANDA DEMOCRACY IS DEAD! Besides Ex-Prime Minister Twagiramungu Faustin, no other true opposition candidate for Rwanda’s presidential election has successfully been able to make it to the presidential elections. Candidates are arrested before election day. Kagame wins always above 90 percent. Besides, all other Rwandan presidential aspirants have been arrested, thrown in jail & are not allowed to leave the country. Independent journalists who dare report the truth have either been killed, gone missing, or had to flee the country!
Former president Pasteur Bizimungu was a pseudo president. The real president since RPF took power in 1990 was Kagame. After being forced to resign, Bizimungu formed a new political PDR party, the Party for Democratic Renewal known as Ubuyanja. It was immediately banned by the Kagame Regime. Bizimungu was placed under house arrest. On 7 June 2004, he was sentenced to 15 years in prison in a sham trial, for attempting to form a militia, inciting violence, and embezzlement. He received a five-year sentence for each of these convictions, which were to run consecutively. Kagame took power and pardoned him on 6 April 2007.
